What makes women age conscious?

Age is just a number if you have not grown through life rather you've just gone through it, but for women (men too these days) this is the top secret and they just don't want to go beyond a certain figure! yeah! they want to stay young all their life! Being your own age makes you more attractive if the purpose is to be 'attractive forever'!

It makes me wonder that after all what are the solid reasons that make women age conscious?, why would they try to remain trapped in a younger age? The motivation behind this post is interaction with such people! and again this is post is a light one not meant to ridicule anyone just give my personal views which could be wrong as well.

[Note: the reason I am using the words 'they', 'them' and not using 'us' is that Alhamdulillah I am not age conscious being 25 and ready to turn 26 any moment!]

1. The most obvious one: They would like to live forever, so, are we Muslims? The aim should be to try and  stay fit for good deeds.

2. Being attractive forever, I think we need to redefine 'attraction' and 'beauty' because I feel that beauty of a person needs to be understood than just be seen. Beauty is not just one thing called appearance. As for attraction the people you carry themselves according to their age are more attractive than those reverting to a younger age.

3. The probably think that old age would deprive them of the blessings of youth, I feel that every stage of your life is better than the previous one provided you grow through your experiences and discover the charm of every age. It is a fact that you' re bound to move towards decline its a law of nature that cannot be avoided but only accepted as something from Allah.

4. A very common argument "Dil jawan hona chahiya" meaning that you should be young at heart. it is not the figure called age that makes you dull or lifeless with time, it is your reaction to happenings that makes us so, so the heart should be strong and filled with Allah's love to be full of life forever! ready to forego anything anywhere for HIS sake, the confidence you get with such a sense is the real confidence which would never let you become lifeless!

5. The most horrible reason is to increase your 'market value' in order to get married! Well, commitments should be based on truth alone other wise such commitments are bound to break, and also harm the families involved. If someone has to reject you based on your 'specifications' then its best to be rejected!

Eagerly looking forward to comments and criticism!

The Path we need, but the path we seldom tread!

I once read a very good comment about Surah Fateha: "The never ending Begining"

No doubt each and every verse of Quran has to offer countless dimensions but Surah Fateha is really special, and really does seem 'never ending'. The verse 6:

"Keep us on the right path"
Ref: Image Source

talks about a 'path' and not an ultimate 'goal', 'objective' or 'destination'. Because i feel that as long as we are alive there can be no perfect state which can be termed as the ultimate goal in fact its like path, which requires us to make decisions each day each moment. So 'Hidayat' seems like a part of the process rather than the start or end of the process! So Allah wants us to constantly seek hidayat from him in the form of this Surah, because we actually need it. We need to be conscious about each and every step because one wrong step could open up the wrong path for us, that path might present temptations. So it would be fairly easier to think before taking the step rather than trying to step back because we might or might not step back! Similarly one right step could change our life! could put us on the right path for a while at least until we encounter the next crossroad! This further proves that there cant be a 'goal' or 'destination' that is why this dua is repeatedly recited in every namaz every rakk'at. SubhanAllah!

Olympics in Pakistan?

This is a post towards the lighter side and it should be taken as such. Of course the only place that owns us and the only place that we own is Pakistan!

And Olympics are one spectacle to watch from the patience and calmness of archers to trends and traditions of various nations to the spectacular arrangements and discipline everything is worth a watch.

While watching Olympics this year I suddenly jumped on to a thought that what if this event was organized in Pakistan? So probably these might be the headlines:

  • "Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Olympics 2012" to be held in Pakistan.
  • Pakistan has urged the international community to step ahead and donate for Olympics.
  • IMF to lend Pakistan money for Olympics on stringent terms.
  • Government to impose 'Olympics Tax' this year.
  • Gold medals stolen, Opposition slams government for security lapse.
  • TTP accept responsibility of stealing gold medals.
  • Every player must declare his assets and show tax returns before participating in the games; Claims Imran Khan.
  • There will be minimum load shedding during Olympics; President Asif Ali Zardari
  • JUI Issues dress code for Olympic Games.
  • India will not send their players to Pakistan.
  • Full security will be provided to participants; Rehman Malik.
  • Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman wants Olympics schedule according to Islamic Calendar, Obama might join Mufti Sahab in moon sighting.
  • "Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Olympics 2012" were fixed: Wiki leaks!

"Switch off your phones" Day

Of all the days, including friendship day, fathers day, mothers day, earth day, valentines day, sisters day etc., the day being suggested in this post would have the most positive effects!

There should be a day celebrated when we switch off our phones and switch off a lot of tension and get connected to those around us!

we never realize the amount of time our cell phones consume and the extent to which they disconnect us from  the near ones. I am sure that on such a day we would discover many new things in our selves and in our homes. We'd get into many other activities and get away from a network of restraint, the network of mobiles.

The idea is not to advertise against the use of mobile phones but the proper and moderate use of the device!

Faana; Destroyed by chance or by choice

Yeah I might seem crazy blogging about a movie that was released some six years back! but the fact is that i have actually seen it pretty recently! It is fairly possible that I fall for a song years after it breaks all music records!  that's me!

On the surface this movie is just another love story of Zoonie (Kajol) and Rehan (Amir Khan), in short Zoonie dances while she boasts about the colors of her homeland even though she is blind but looses all the color in her life when she gets her eye sight back!

But this movie has a deeper meaning below the surface, that deciding between right and wrong is easy but deciding between the lesser of two evils and better of two goods is what 'makes' our life. And this actually 'makes' our life, If we think, these decisions are in fact the major ones and the most frequent ones i.e lesser of two evils and better of two goods. So in this is a story about two people one who makes the right decisions and the other who does not. One who is clear about life and the other who is not. Both are destroyed one by chance and luck and the other by choice, hence having different outcomes of this destruction! Pretty close to what I have advocated in another post.

Also I read some where, and have forgotten the source that:
"To Live is to Love and to Love is to Die"
[NOTE:  Have removed all the references regarding the love with God (Submitting to divine will willfully) because people were not liking the fact that we should relate to love with God from a Bollywood movie :) so have removed the content which unnecessarily added Sufi touch to the movie.
Hence i am not advocating it as a thought changer, but just a good movie.or atleast a movie that I enjoyed watching :)]
